I suppose a better title for this post would have been blue fixation, but midi fixation had a better ring to it and so I rolled with it! When it comes to favorite colors, my obsessions shift from season to season and though I certainly have a few go-to colors, for the most part, I like a bit of variety. Well, with the exception of midi skirts that is because I cannot remember a blue midi skirt I did not love!

If you wear  a bold color midi, temper it with a neutral blouse. As for pleated or fuller options, keep the top simple. I like to wear my midi with a silk button down or a closer fitting top. To elongate the leg and combat the stumpy look wear high strapped heels. I'm referring to sexy minimal heel sandals that give you height without the extra weight of a clumpy shoe.

My favorite style of skirts are those that offere elegance without the need for much accessories. These pieces are eye-catching even without accessories to make them stand out.

I hope this outfit will inspire my shorter readers to feel confident enough to give midi skirts a try. Don't be afraid to style it and make it your own, even when the most say you should avoit it. If you love it, fantastic. If you don't, at least you gave it a try and scratched the curiosity itch.

A few years ago when maxi skirts started to make a big comeback, I was convinced that I could never wear one. I'm only  1.57, so I figured any maxi skirt out there would swallow me up and make me look ridiculous. Until one day I tried one and fell in love. Now I realize that not only can you be petite and wear maxi skirts (they can actually make you look taller if styled correctly), but I know that anyone, no matter what shape or size, can wear them and look good.

Maxi skirts are a wardrobe staple for most of us. That's what's so great about them-they're versatile, easy to style with anything and incredibly comfy. If you didn't buy one yet, you need to, because there are so many outfits you can create with one.

Here are three things you have to take into account when wearing a maxi skirt:
  • Length: a maxi's length ca vary greatly. For the most flattering, go with a cut that is all the way down to the floor. A skirt that is exactly ankle height can cut off your legs and make you look like a tree stump. If you always feel "stumpy" when wearing maxis, try one that has a slit at the leg, which often can feel less restricting and elongate the legs.
  • Define the waist: whatever you're wearing on top, make sure you define your waist, whether it's with a belt, tucking in, or tying up your shirt.
  • Material: stay away from tight maxis in ultra-thin, clingy material- they show everything. No matter how many squats you're doing in the gym, those skrits are never flattering. As a rule of thumb, if you get a line from your underwear or from tucking in your shirt, put it back on the rack!
A timeless classic that never dates, these skirts have a place in every woman's wardrobe. And when you have the perfect silky rose quartz one there is nothing you could wish more. Choosing the right fabric, matching it with a pretty top and picking complementary accessories, this is the key to looking great in a maxi skirt.

Now that it's spring, we're constantly looking for outfit ideas that are totally stylish, yet highly comfortable and there's no better staple item than a great pair of jeans. However, it's no secret that pretty much every other girl on the street is also wearing jeans, so sometimes we need a way to stand out. That's when ripped jeans enter!

This clothing item has a super casual feel and it can be hard to make it look put-together and polished. But it's definitely not impossible! In fact, when styled correctly, destroyed denim looks seriously street-chic and so cool. The trick to making ripped jeans look pulled together and not too Guns'N'Roses is to pair them with basic staples such as a silk blouse, a great pair of stilettos and a fitted blazer.

Whether you prefer a pair of skinnys with two slits at the knee, or a slouchy boyfriend jeans that are torn up all over, I've highlighted 12 cool pairs for this spring!
Have a nice week!

My interest in floral prints stems in part from my belief that every woman should be able to thrive in a professional workplace while wearing clothes that make her feel powerful and attractive. On the other hand, this belief requires focused attention to the details that can make the difference between looking sophisticated and looking girlish.

A little floral at the office goes a long way. First of all, keep in mind to wear one floral print at a time. Keep your look sleek and sophisticated when wearing floral prints to work. Avoid girlish details like ruffles, bows decorative edging and lace.

A floral statement piece (or any statement piece, for that matter) should be paired with an otherwise understated outfit. For example, wear a bold floral blouse with a simple neutral pants, a classic handbag and understated jewellery. Look for floral prints with rich colors which look more professional. Avoid neon which is too casual for the office.

Beware of girlish pastel prints at the office. Either avoid them altogether or think carefully about how to wear a pastel floral print to work.

A red dress is always a bold fashion statement. It gives you almost everything you need to feel and look right for the occasion. And did you also know that the color red has been scientifically proven to elevate your self-confidence? Yup, it's definitely a must-own look-effortlessly-hot item!

When you choose accessories to wear with your dress stick with simple, unobtrusive pieces that add a little interest and contrast without drawing too much attention. Keep you dress the focal poinf of your outfit. If you have a bold personality, opt for a bold shoe! Shiny patent leather adds a trace of shimmer to your foot, which may prevent your heels from being obscured by your red dress.

Consider rings, earrings and bracelets over necklaces. They do not overlap with your dress and can be admired on their own. Necklaces and long dangle earrings may brush your dress. Even though you can have an ensemble with multiple pieces, you should still keep things toned down. A large bag may wash you out, instead go for a small clutch, especially one in black and white.

If you're on a budget and want to be able to wear the same dress multiple time for various occasions then buy a red dress in a timeless style. Like for example this one I am having today. I must confess, I don't usually wear red. Maybe I should. What do you think? Do you like the dress?
