The Spring season is just around the corner and I want to encourage you to be creative. Learning about new trends is the best way for us to shake up our closets and get in touch with a new side of ourselves.

For some time, blouses began to be considered the basic item in the feminine wardrobe, especially if it's business style. They had acquires such popularity due to the universality and flexibility in combination with other garments. For example, blouses look great with skirts and business style trousers. Quite harmoniously they look with jeans and shorts in casual and grunge style. In addtion, blouses can make a great tandem with maxi evening skirts.

In the new Spring-Summer 2016 season the admirers of shirts will have a huge variety to choose from. Bright or achromatic colors? Classic or decorated items? Silk or cotton? Stripes or polka dots?
The choice is only yours!

If you read my blog on regular basis, you probably know what a huge shoeaholic I truly am! And so, when I found these amazing heels at Zara, I simply couldn't resist! :)

When it comes to my favorite shoe styles in general, drama and details is what I tend to go for the most. Even when it comes to everyday and casual, plain is not my game. Well, aside from being incredibly versatile, what I like about these heels the most is the fact that they add that perfect touch of drama to both casual or dressy outfits. A little sexy, a little girly, they have this ability to transform even the simplest of styles into statement outfits.

Nonetheless, this is again one of my outfits comprised entirely of all the things I am completely and totally obsessed with. Take these beautiful jeans for example, they take jeans to the next level, don't you think? They add just the right touch of texture and transforms even the simplest outfit into a hit. Yet, what I particulary adore about these jeans is the fact that they are made from light-as- air fabric which feels so good. Moreover, the cut and the color work synergistically together to create a piece that is both slightly casual and decidely polished. Naturally, I absolutely love that!

When it comes to shoes, leather and suede are usually the first two materials that come in mind. Two basic fabrics that provide a vast amount of styles while offering multiple palettes for designers to work on. With all the types of leather and suede there are, it is no surprise that they are the go to when it come to heels.

But there is one fabric that is often disregarded in the grand scheme of things. A cloth that is more associated with a pair of jeans than a pair of shoes: DENIM. The truth is I wish it was used more frequently on stilettos. The look it provides is abstract, a little piece of extra flair provided by a simple fiber.

Before you can choose what kind of shoes to wear with your skinny pants, you need to take all these factors into account. The beauty of these kind of pants is that they can look great with a whole range of options. You can wear them with shoes, boots and sandals. You can opt for high heels or flats, narrow heels or wide. Just be sure to avoid anything too clumpy, such as thick or platform shoes, or they'll look unbalanced against your slimline legs.

Blazers and jackets that carry floral prints are bold fashion statement-making pieces. They may appear a tad too busy, but they can be such a great addition to style up your basic pieces. The key to wear them in style is to let the jacket be the focal point while keeping the rest understated in solid color tones.

I found this floral jacket on Shein and thought of the many ways I could wear it. I love to buy pieces with versatility, well made as I have always been a fan of jackets that just may be the "wow" factor to an outfit.

For a casual spring look, just combine it with a pair of sneakers and jeans. If you are going for a date, you can wear a skirt matching one of the colors on the jacket. For a formal work look just put it outside of your all black outfits. That will be cool and classy. For some night out occasions, you can pair it with skinny dresses or shorts.

No one is saying it's easy: finding the perfect engagement ring is nearly as elusive as finding the woman on whose left hand you hope to place the said ring. There are so many factors at play - you're dealing with the emotional waterfall of anticipation: when to propose, how to propose and the biggest dilemma of all: how will you find the ring?

When you're trying to find the best place to shop - for anything - you do your due diligence. You post it as your status, blocking your hope fiance: "Facebook Friends! Do you have a favourite jewellery store? I'm looking for something special. Please don't tell her. Would love any info/recommendations on local Melbourne shop. And, please, shhhh....!" You may find that the same name will keep showing up in your comments thread.  I know a shop so highly recommended it's clearly in the running- if not the winner- in the search for the best jewellery shop in Melbourne: Simon West Fine Jewellery.
Before you make your appointment for one-on-one personal consultation at the Simon West shop (where they'll exclusively advise you for up to an hour), you can visit their website and spend as much time as you like- in the comfort of your home-- scrolling through a remarkable collection of custom designed, handmade engagement rings.

Choosing between a mall-located chain jewellery shop and a craftsman boutique jewellery store shouldn't even be a choice, because latter will offe you so many options and present you with a handcrafted ring made of quality metal and gems. Those large chain stores buy everything in buld and quality cannot be carefully maintained and observed as would be by artisan experts.

The next step is the proposal and there are so many memorable options. Here are just a handful of ideas:
1. Choose a place of great significance to the two of you, where you first met, kissed etc.
2. Choose a landmark in your city.
3. If she is super social and you're confident for a "yes", throw a surprise party and propose in front of your closest friends and family.
4. Send her on a fun treasure hunt. The final stop will be a gift box with the engagement ring.
5. Use the idea no. 3, but have balloons that form the phrase "Will you Marry Me?" or have specific important attendees have the words on a shirt- at the end of the question mark, will be you.
6. Create a digital album of life together, with the last page being a proposal.
7. Have a beautiful " Will you Marry Me?" not written on lovely paper, fold it and put it in a locket and hang it from your pet dog's or cat's collar.
8. Do it the traditional way- take her to an old-school restaurant with candlelight, wine, the whole nine yards. Have a friend film the proposal and have your closest friends step out from hiding to congratulate you both.
9. Create a gift box or basket of her all time favourite foods and sweets and at the very bottom, have the jewellery box and ring.

Once you've planned your proposal you can offer her a supplemental gift- view a beautiful range of earrings in Melbourne. You can have the earrings match with her engagement ring or it can be in a design that stands out on its own. Whatever it may be, you are guaranteed to make her happy because you have finally popped the question every woman wants to hear from the man they want to marry.

Now that you've found the ideal ring, arranged and planned the proposal, you are well on your way to a happy life together.

It comes around when you are least expecting it, like a speed camera or toothache. Except it is much, much nicer. One day it's not there and the next it is. And on that morning, the bad news, the scandals, the economic downturns, everything is forgotten. It arrives overnight and the word you hear the most wherever you go is not Syria or bombs or deficit, but beautiful and glorious. And spring!

What I love about spring is that there is no official beginning to it. It's not an exact science. It begins on that morning when something barely perceptible changes in the air, that first day you don't need your overcoat, people smile at you and it feels essential to go for a walk in the park. The sky is blue and planes thread silver of vapour slowly across it. That day you know winter is finally over.

Don't get me wrong: I like winter! I like scarves and fires, hot chocolate and beautiful movies. But spring is soft and warm and sharp like cider. For me, spring it's about the promise of good things to come...
Happy Valentine's Day!
XOXO,
Valentina
